FAQ.
Is the course certified?
Yes. The SunSmart 5K is run on a USATF-certified course, so your time counts. It's flat, fast and scenic.
Do I have to run?
Not at all. Walkers, strollers and everyone in between are welcome. The course is flat and scenic.
Is the skin cancer screening really free?
Yes. Every registered participant can get a free skin check from University of Miami dermatologists after the race.
How much does it cost?
Every 5K entry and the Kids' 200m Dash is $35 plus a $5 RunSignup processing fee. Students: check with your university about a discount. You can also run as a VIP donor at $25, $50 or $100.
Where does my registration fee go?
Proceeds support skin cancer research at the University of Miami's Dr. Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Do I need to pay to enter the park?
No. The park entrance fee is included in your race registration, and you're welcome to enjoy the park after the race.
When does registration close?
Online registration on RunSignup is open until February 6, 2027 at 10:00 AM. Register early to make sure you get a shirt in your size.
